Staff Accountant

DLTC Healthcare, a leading Maine assisted-living provider, has an immediate opening for a detail oriented individual in our accounting department. This position is full time (40 hours/week). The candidate must have a strong accounting background (Bachelor’s degree or a lower degree with full charge bookkeeping experience).

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing tasks and duties
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of journal entries
  • Periodic reconciliation of general ledger accounts
  • Provide assistance/support in all accounting related activities, including P/R, A/P, A/R, F/A
  • Prepare analytics and analysis as requested
  • Assist in the month end close and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist in the preparation of workpapers necessary for annual financial audit
  • Assist in the preparation of annual Cost Reports for submission to Maine DHHS
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the position as requested by management
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time at a desk
  • Lifting requirements include periodic lifting of up to 10 lbs (normal office materials and paperwork)
